Solarfall 0 Posted September 17, 2009 Hi everyone.I've got strange errors with two of our AV776w DVRs.Our customer called us,that 8. camera's picture is too bright. All right, that's not a big deal,we've changed the lens of the camera.but the error stood still. We've changed the hole camera, but the picture is still too bright. We've adjusted the brightness with the software, but it was getting worse. Today i was shocked, that the camera is not recording any movement at all and another customer called us with same problem. So two DVRs with same error. What's wrong?I've made software and hardware reset too.Is that a serial problem with AV776W DVRs? I'd appreciate any help.
scorpion 0 Posted September 17, 2009 My first guess is to open the DVRs, and see if the fans are spinning. I bet that they are not spinning. This has overheated the DVR. If the fan is not spinning then touch the chip below. See how hot it is!!! You should be able to find a 40mm fan at any computer store. You will just have to cut off the wire to the old fan, and attach it to the new fan. What ever damage you have will not go away. If you have any other of these DVRs then you will need to get to them, ans swap out the fan on those as well. This goes for the AVC 777 also!! (or any DVR for that matter) Make sure that they do not have a bunch of stuff cluttered around the DVR to block air flow! What do you think?
