Tomislav 0 Posted October 7, 2009 I have a problem regarding Axis 213 PTZ camera. Since it is installed it is giving us very bad picture during the night. Later on I saw the specs for 213 and it says IR up to 3m, so no wonder it was that bad so but another problem is when IR from the camera is on, during the night, camera looses the focus (it is set to auto focus). It focuses on the camera globe (water drops) rather then on surrounding. But if I switch off the camera IR, set manual focus and use external IR the picture is better. Yes btw camera is set on the beach side which means lot of sea drops on the globe, is there a solution to this problem as well? And what can I do that camera is properly focused when using it’s own IR?
thewireguys 3 Posted October 7, 2009 I would recommend the 214PTZ it have much better low light performance...... Do you have it in a housing?
Tomislav 0 Posted October 7, 2009 Thanks, but I am stuck with around 20-30 of them. They have the housing but I am not sure is it original, I wasn't there when they purchased it or installed it, I will check tomorrow.

Tomislav 0 Posted October 7, 2009 You are right, external IR will have to do. Does Axis have any?

rory 0 Posted October 8, 2009 Looks like Raytec is fairly new to the infrared lighting industry (2005?). You might want to also consider ExtremeCCTV which has been around since at least 1997.
Tomislav 0 Posted October 8, 2009 Rory, what is the internet address. I tried ExtremeCCTV it directs me to Bosh system. Is it the one?
