scorpion 0 Posted October 15, 2009 I am sorry to tell you this, but you have a permanent problem, and it cannot be fixed! Ok! I lied! It is an easy fix! http://scorpiontheater.com/nubix4st.aspx Look for the following: MANUAL AVC 760AS / NUBIX 4ST MANUAL ENGLISH
carpinter 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Thank you for reply have tried to reboot system as per manual but still no joy. Have a red led light flashing on circuit board but will not reboot, am i doing something totally wrong? It should be simple I'm sure.
scorpion 0 Posted October 16, 2009 You need to swap out the hard drive with a brand new one. It comes straight out of the package, and straight into the DVR. It will not be installed into a computer, and formatted in any way. If the DVR works then it was the old hard drive. If it still has a problem then perhaps it is the external power supply, or a problem on the enternal power supply, and this is causing problems with the hard drive. A rare problem would be a relay failure that controls the power to the hard drive. If replacing the external, and the internal power supplys do not work then it is a board failure. It would cost more in labor to repair it then it would to buy another used one. Hard reset will not fix the problem. Have you verified the DVR is set for "OVERWRITE" ?? What do you think? dvrtiger 0 Posted October 17, 2009 Flashing red LED indicates that your power supply is 99% fine, it's an internal indication that 5V DC is present for motherboard electronics. Just to be sure, take a multimeter and check if there are 12V and 5V on molex connector of your HDD. If your DVR worked before you replaced HDD an rebooted it, you should check for any loose wires and flat cables which you probably pulled out during repairs. Your worst case scenario would be that you have a dead processor caused by clumsily done hard reset (current drained from capacitors during this process is sufficient to damage it if you touched anything else with the same metal tool beside those two pads)
carpinter 0 Posted October 17, 2009 Hi have checked power supply across the molex connector have the 5v but only 7.2 on last one. It's still the original hdd but it just stopped recording when memory was full, was also on overwrite but system failed, did also try powering up hard drive with external supply but no luck still saying no HDD. Just powered up my computer harddrives with the external power supply and you hear them starting up but nothing with my cctv hdd (fault )?
dvrtiger 0 Posted October 18, 2009 Only 7.2? Then you have a faulty 12V bus on your power supply, probably 12V regulator or filter electrolytics. You should take your HDD out of DVR and hook it up on ATX PSU (to start it, short green and black wire on 24 pin molex) just to see will it spin. If your DVRs power supply shows such a low voltage, don't even try to put a new HDD in it, you could burn motors on HDD!
carpinter 0 Posted October 18, 2009 Sorry for the mix up yesterday, used a proper multimeter today across the 4 pin molex and getting the 12v not sure about the shorting of wires im not up to speed with the configuration of the 24 pin plug without pictures thank you for the advice to date. alexx 0 Posted October 22, 2009 no claim to originality, I can advise to check the jumper on the HDD, and put it in the position of master and try again
carpinter 0 Posted October 22, 2009 Hi done all that only thing i notice is no start up noise could this be just bad luck that it failed when memory full
