dirtydignity 0 Posted October 18, 2009 Hi, I'm new to CCTV installations and i need your help. I bought four Samsung B2300 cameras. I am not sure as to which lenses to use ? I would place these lenses on top of cash registers. So these cameras would be approximately 4-6 feet away from the registers(The area viewed would also be less). These would be installed inside a store which has optimal light but the store is lit up good in the day and has a little low light in the night. Please advice what should i go for ? rory 0 Posted October 18, 2009 I use AI no matter that its indoors, around the same price. Lenses are so cheap now, look for something like a Fujinon or Computar 2.8-11mm Varifocal F:1.2 lens. If you are going for cosmetics though a manual iris lens might be best, due to the wire showing on the AI lens.

Soundy 1 Posted October 20, 2009 I'd take the one with the larger maximum aperture - it will probably be listed as something like "f/1.4" or "1:1.4". Most of these types of lenses, that number will be anywhere from 1.0 to 1.8 - take the one with the SMALLER number. Smaller number = larger opening = more light.
