1.2ghz antenna question

I'm trying to build my own Yagi for a 1.2ghz transmitter.

How far apart do I have to place the elements does anyone have the math. formula for this?

oh yea and an other thing, should i put the Yagi on my transmitter or my receiver?

I can't vouch for the accuracy. But anyway, If it's a point to point system you would use a directional antenna at both ends of the link.

probably, its used for any long range wireless ..

Generally a Yagi is too big for war driving. If you're just crusing around looking for open APs then you usually don't need a big antena.

I use 2, a 7 dbi omni-directional magnetic and a 5 dbi paddle, also omni. Gets all the signals I need in NYC.
