What's the difference between red and blue led's?

I was just wondering why ICRealtime uses blue instead or red led's on their vandal proof ir domes?

Ive never seen a camera with Blue LEDs so I cant say, but most IR LEDs and IR bulbs are clear and give off a red glow.

Well I dont know the difference, but its definitely not any better in IR distance wise or Extreme CCTV would be using them and not the clear ones they use now.
