marvelusmarvcus 0 Posted October 25, 2009 i have an extreme wz18 outdoor bullet camera that is acting very weird. i am afraid that it is damaged. it works, but the color is almost not there, and the color that is there looks like the tint is all wrong. the color actually looks like a really cheap camera would where dark colors become blue etc. is there something in the camera that i could damage to make this happen? if so, what? im thinking something with the power caused this. sidoffice 0 Posted October 27, 2009 it may well be a cheap camera... however you can try cleaning the lens or try refocusing.. alternatively you can adjust color settings from your DVR or PC based DVR..
zmxtech 0 Posted October 29, 2009 Sounds like the night filter is stuck during the day or not switching info: Using a dual window IR-Cut and IR-Pass filter, the WZ18 delivers vivid color during day and exceptional performance to infrared at night. The mechanical filter technology helps eliminate focus shift and infrared bleed for effective 24/7 performance. z

I had an IQ753 that did something similar: the cut filter was getting stuck partway through its move, and simply rebooting the camera cleared it up (until next time). A sharp tap on the camera may loosen the filter up as well, which may or may not be a permanent fix.
