Geovision setup beeping noise, and remote viewing problem

Recommended Posts

I have recently installed a geovision setup (GV-600) and I love it and it is working just fine but I am having some problems.

1. When my computer speakers are on and the multicam surveillance is opening I here a beeping noise from my speakers every second it makes it impossible to listen to music on this pc. Any suggestions I have looked to see if I have any alerts set on for that noise nothing yet.

2. I am wanting to view my camera remotely of course and I have the geovision iphone app and have it setup to view on my laptop but it doesn't work anywhere else other than while I am connected to my in house internet. I think the ip I am using is wrong. Any suggestions. I am trying to connect to a 192.168.1.102 ip and I think I should be trying to connect to my physical ip of that computer but wouldn't that change daily? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks again.

Oh ya my pc setup

xp pro

3 gig

2.4 dual core

1-Select Disable Video Lost beeping, and Disable Watchdog Beep. You should also use the Enable/Disable camera section and disable (uncheck) any cameras you will not have connected.

2-No iphone here. But, you need to connect to your ISP IP address. It will change unless you order and setup a Static IP Address from them. Alternatively if you have a router, you can setup a DDNS name depending on the service included in the router, eg. DynDns.com. Additionally to access if from outside you will need to port forward the ports to the DVR, so make sure the DVR is using an Internal Static IP address also.

Ok thanks for the reply but I still need some help.

I signed up for dyn dns. com and got a domain name but what ip do I put in there I am mixed up big time.

when I got to ipconfig I get ip address - 192.168.1.102 so I guess that is the ip my DVR is on cause im on the computer I use to do the DVR.?

Also another question the ports to open I have no idea what ports open the DVR up?

So essentially once this is all done I am suppose to go to mydomain. dvrdns.o r g and view my camera anywhere?
