simo923 0 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi Guys. I have 4 PCs running 2 GV-2008 cards in each. Also, each PC has a GV-NET Card. The cameras attached are Lilin 7622's (highly not recommend, terrible picture for a £600 camera) PTZ is all set up correctly and working. The issue that i am having is with lag on the commands. When i control a camera, the commands do not kick in for a second or two, and then the camera moves. This is no good when trying to follow a target. Is this inherant with Geovision, does anyone else see this problem. If have tried the cameras on a Samsung SV1680 DVR (excellent DVR for £1700) and they are quick off the mark, and excellent control. Also tried on their own Lilin controller, and again, lightning quick reactions. The protocol i am using in the Geovision system is Lilin-PIH. There is a choice of 3 Lilin protocols and this one seems to work the best. Comms set up as 9800 Baud.

There is some lag/delay using LAN/WAN, locally there are also some delay, but much better. What is your CPU % normally? Also can the camera be slow? I have been using Dynacolor, Sensormatic, Sanyo, Everfocus, Bosch, Panasonic, CNB PTZ cameras and they all have been using at a ok (could be better) respons! simo923 0 Posted November 2, 2009 I am controlling locally from the host machine, as well as from LAN based clients. Response is the same over all of them. What i forgot to mention is that i am using CAT5 for the transmission cable. I am using just the 1 pair. Now, the Lilin 7622 RS-485 plug also has a connector for ground, which i have never used as the GV-NET card doesnt have it, only + and - The Samsung DVR and the Lilin Controller both had ground on as well, so i suppose there lies a difference. Do you know what baud rate you are using together with your Lillin camera? 2400 9600 and so on? RS-485 is ok! But if your response is same locally as LAN then it is slow! simo923 0 Posted November 2, 2009 Baud is set as 9600 but i have had the same results at 4800. I think i might have to put it down to these crappy cameras, put it down to a complete waste of thousands of pounds and get something with a reputation.
