cupofnestor 0 Posted November 3, 2009 Hello all, I am designing an exhibit for a museum. In the exhibit, children will be able to control an external PTZ camera via (hopefully) an arcade-type rugged joystick(pan/tilt) and a large rocker switch(zoom). What I am wondering, is if there is a product available that would transmit Pelco D/P or any common protocol, based on "contact closure." Ideally, what this would resemble is a microcontroller/SoC which could spit out UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT, etc. messages in the correct format based on the closure of several switches which we would attach to it. I understand that descriptions of these protocols are widely available and we could make something like this with a little R&D, but I'd rather use something "Off-the shelf" and with a warranty, etc. Does anyone know of such a device? bpzle 0 Posted November 5, 2009 Since no one else has any ideas... I'm not aware of any off the shelf items... Perhaps something like this http://www.embedds.com/the-fun-way-to-diy-avr-based-usb-joystick/ with a little a PTZ protocol and a few arcade style buttons and joysticks... http://www.xgaming.com/arcade_bundle.shtml]
