Is this feasable?

Have a 4way dvr with writer with1 input spare but i want to add extra cameras,to utilise the dvr could i add 4 new cameras to a quad multiplexor /switcherand use the monitor out from this to the input of the dvr?

I suppose you could, but once you've done that, you'll get 1/4 of the resolution on that one channel (with quad). A switcher would probably be better idea.

so a switcher would keep the resolution switching between say 15 sec intervals (dwell time?)

This would show on the monitor (on quad mode) on a quarter of the screen?
