peskypete 0 Posted November 8, 2009 Hi, I have ports open, can access locally, but when I try through a proxy server, or from my place of work, I get the 'Can't connect to server' message. Please try it and let me know if you can access it from your location, to help me trouble shoot. http://peterjenkins.selfip.net Thanks!

Thanks for helping out - If you log on (guest) do you get the video feed though? That's where it will say 'connecting to server...' then fail (for me). (You play masters btw??) Oh yeah, Of course you do! - I played with you this Summer R.M. Cheers! Edited November 8, 2009 by Guest
Soundy 1 Posted November 8, 2009 I see the Quicktime logo, it says "Connecting" for a few seconds, then errors out (10060: Disconnected) (Uh... masters?)

See my last post (edited) Did you get your asses handed to you against Poco this weekend? Bummer on the disconnect! I know how much you LOVE Geovision
Soundy 1 Posted November 8, 2009 Hehe, still no idea what you're talking about with "masters".
jeromephone 6 Posted November 8, 2009 I got into it Cam 3 backyard. had to download the active x etc
peskypete 0 Posted November 9, 2009 I got into it Cam 3 backyard. had to download the active x etc Ok That's great! That means the reason I cannot access it by proxy or work is some other unique restriction (port blocking?) by these servers. Thanks v. much! Pete
peskypete 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Hehe, still no idea what you're talking about with "masters". Well, you can't be Rob Merritt then! You must work for him. Pete

Pete Interesting... can you reach the web page itself from work, but not the content? It's quite possible that your work proxy blocks media content in general. I don't know if GV uses other ports besides 80 for the webview... Well, you can't be Rob Merritt then! You must work for him. Bingo! I figured that must be what you were thinking after that last post. Soundy 1 Posted November 9, 2009 Well, using IE instead of Firefox, I don't get any errors, but I don't get a picture either, just a blue screen where the camera should be.
Guest Posted November 9, 2009 Well, using IE instead of Firefox, I don't get any errors, but I don't get a picture either, just a blue screen where the camera should be. Hi! If it is standard ports on your webcam you need to open and NAT thsese ports: 80, 3550, 4550, 5550! BR JD
peskypete 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Hi, Those ports are open (port forward). Not sure what "NAT" means though. Will only work with IE (I think) and you have to d/l the activex control when asked, though if you have the menu bar on th left and the blue video window, then you did that already. You have to choose 'Liveview' and '1 window' from the left menus. That should load the camera(s) Peter
rory 0 Posted November 9, 2009 I cant connect either using my software, well it connects but no data so disconnects. All ports seem open on that but maybe not working properly. It just keeps trying to connect and times out, have you reset the webcam server?Check your permissions also, enable cameras etc for the certain user. Do you have any firewall or antivirus on your DVR? Try changing the HTTP port to another such as 81 or 82. Ofcourse you are running 8.3 .. thats loaded with issues anyway. That's what came with the card originally, and I was able to get 8.3 from Geovision tech support, but now I can't find their support site... I bought a genuine card so that I could get reliability, but I'm not sure I have that, or it's the way I have my network and system set up properly, but jeromephone was able to access the cameras, so it should all be setup ok , though I still need more people to confirm
peskypete 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Well, my nephew in the UK was able to log in and view the camera images, so all must be ok. If others can't get on, then it must be a unique situation, I guess. Pete
