silg 0 Posted November 13, 2009 Hello guys Im using a gv-800 card for cctv video, and now i want to add cctv audio to one of my cameras.... locally i have access to this mic: imgur. com/DzAzM.jpg (join the U RL, couldnt post urls because im new ) i would ignore the video cable, as my cam is already wired with siamese rg59 What cable should i run from my GV800 to the mic? can i run the standard cctv video siamese cable, cut the mics power & audio and patch them? tsd 0 Posted November 18, 2009 Yes you can do that if you have a short run and also make sure mic is pre-amp high gain Good luck
jeromephone 6 Posted November 19, 2009 I would run a seperate microphone cable whatever is speced by mfg. Two years from now when someone goes to check it out they won't have to figure what cable is the mike or power. Costs can;t be that much different.
securitymonster 0 Posted December 15, 2009 Run a separate cable, do it right the first time! We normally run Loroue mics, and they call for a 2 conductor with a drain.
