I accidentally broke the lens. Combined with the "Half Bushnell", I will be building a glass case to house both cameras for future generations to marvel at.

Well I went back a few weeks ago and found where exactly those live wires terminated:

Then last week I went back and replaced all but one of the old cameras in -20c weather. Came upon this gem:

This camera cost 14 usd incl shipping on ebay.

I have tested it, and yes its really bad, and no this not IP66 like the product promise. Whit the extra lens it will kick ass below 20 bucks

Not as dramatic as my first posts in this thread, but here is a novel way to install a dome camera in a beauty salon:

 

 

Just cut a hole with a knife and drop the sucker in. Very professional. " title="Applause" />

 

The P&P IP camera is one I installed last night because believe it or not, the dome failed after a week and the local company that did such a magnificent job putting it up there ($150/hour labor rate I'm told) is refusing to come replace it. I really should have taken some pictures of what is going on above the drop tile -scary. Maybe next week when I go back to install a couple more.

Well, got called in to this site yesterday to clean their outside cameras, clean up the wiring, and figure out why some of them weren't working. Well, at first glance, here's what's up with the wiring:

Oh snap! That upside-down housing isn't a real Pelco EH3512... and it's not really all that weathertight!

And the "piece-de-resistance"... note that the power wiring to this camera is solid 18/3, run across the roof along with everything else... stapled through the shingles with fence staples.

The installer of this job they must really kick them out of the installers bizz.

Yes - we removed all six existing cameras, installed three CNB domes instead (they only wanted very basic wide coverage of the pump islands), ran all new wiring INSIDE the canopy, and deleted ALL the old ugly wiring.

 

The "installer" in this case isn't in "the biz", it was the station owner's brother.
