integrating an intercom system

I want to install a intercom system for my Father-in-law house at his front door. I have used Geovision tons of times in the past and i cant find anything about 2-way audio within the software. Do i have to get extra equipment to allow this to work?

what intercom you plan on using?

if you get Aiphone or the like I think you won't even need to integrate it with GV unless you want the fottage recorded on the GV system as well.

 

The audio settings are under 'General Setting> Camera install' but you'll need to connect the mic from the intercom to the GV RCA ports corresponding with the video channel.

I dont have anything in mind yet. Can i just use a camera with 2 way audio hooked up to Geovision and the stereo reciever and maybe a wireless mic to mimic an intercom system? I want it to go through GV if possible.
