RAJEEV 0 Posted November 24, 2009 Hi I am facing a peculiar problem, i tried replacing the lithium battery for date/ time back up, after that the dvr date and time can not be set , it immediately goes to default ( 01 Jan 2000) also the dvr goes to stand by mode after power failure ( does not goes to on condition automatically when power is restored/ does any one think it is bcoz of firmware if so can anyone suggest where to download the firmware Thnx
scorpion 0 Posted November 24, 2009 I would try a hardware reset. I doubt the firmware would fix your problem. The chip may have a problem that goes with the battery. You may have a battery that came off the shelf that may not hold a load. Test the battery under load. http://scorpiontheater.com/reset.aspx
dvrtiger 0 Posted November 24, 2009 I agree with scorpion, new firmware will not fix such problems-if it would, it would mean that the original one was semi-functional from the start-and that is impossible! It's more or less a hardware problem, I would go for electrolytics or bad capacitors around CMOS if new battery and hardware reset don't help.
RAJEEV 0 Posted November 24, 2009 I alreaye tried the hardware reset, but no help, also one major issue, the dvr does not show video on LAN ( it shows the homepage but after you enter the username and password the video can not be seen ) p.s. it actually logs in and you can access dvr settings from LAN, on the other hand you can see video by connecting a TV monitor to the DVR , also which chip needs to be checked for date time error...? I shall appreciate quick help folks..

This sounds more like an Active X issue unless you do not have Java loaded on the computer. http://scorpiontheater.com/url.aspx
RAJEEV 0 Posted November 25, 2009 Thanks for suggestion, but the pc has Java, I can access other DVRs of same model perfectly well., Any idea which hardware components to check.....
scorpion 0 Posted November 25, 2009 I have started a parts page and I got as far as the AVC 760, and the economy crashed, and this project lays dormant so I have not gotten to your DVR, but you can check to see if it uses the same parts as the 760. http://scorpiontheater.com/avtparts.aspx
