Dongwonsecurity 0 Posted December 3, 2009 Hi i have heard that the warrantee of Sony CCD is 2 years. What about Sharp and Samsung CCD? Which manufacturers do provide the longest? Which camera maker do provide the longest warrantee?
survtech 0 Posted December 3, 2009 I don't know about warranties on the chips themselves, but Ikegami provides a 10-year warranty on their standard analog fixed cameras and a 5-year warranty on their dsp analog fixed cameras in the U.S..

When they give 10 years warranty, they say: We know our products are good! JD
Dongwonsecurity 0 Posted December 4, 2009 If a CCTV camera hires Sony CCD or some major component with 2 yr warrantee and if the CCTV Camera provides 3yr or more yr warrantee. How should end consumers understand it?
Guest Posted December 4, 2009 If a CCTV camera hires Sony CCD or some major component with 2 yr warrantee and if the CCTV Camera provides 3yr or more yr warrantee. How should end consumers understand it? It means that the camera manufacture or reseller offers longer warranty then Sony do for the CCD. That is a good thing for the buyer, so long that the company have been set up for selling in a shirt time. Nothing wrong in providing longer warranty! Same with a car 5 or 7 years warranty, but I guess that if you go and buy parts 1 by 1 you only get 1 year! JD
