Geovision has a utility called KeyLock, whenever you install GV Software it adds that to the program just go to start and gv folder you will see there I hope you are not running an old old version of GV If I remember right they started providing keylock with version 6.1

Just add that utility to your startup folder and it will run whenever you restart the computer

good luck...

so you only want to run geovision on the pc?

what i do is create the admin user and then a normal user.

for the normal user, i set it so thet cant minimize or stop recording.

all this is done IN geovision. i got a step further with the users. sometimes, depending on the location, the owner doesnt want the user to see where the hidden cameras are. so in situations like that, i will create a "user" account and give them access to view cameras 1,2,3,5.... in this case, camera 4 is a hidden camera that "user" isnt able to see.

when they try to minimize, it tells them the featuere is not available to them. same thing with stopping the cameras from recording, changing web options, etc...

unless i mis understood your question, you dont want the user having access to the start menu or the desktop, correct?

Yeah but like that, one can still just click the CTL-ALT-DEL key or click the windows key to gain access to Windows. The Geo server software itself only prevents minimizing or exiting the Geovision software.

very true. i guess it just depends where the DVR is and how advanced the person viewing the DVR is with computer shortcuts. i know for me, with having 15 DVRs scattered within company offices, not one person that sits at the machine all day has a clue what ctrl, alt, del does.

also, some of the side jobs that i am at, the DVR is in a locked box/office and i use the video out on the DVR card to display the video on a tv/lcd/security monitor. that usually does the trick.

but yes, you are right, the method i posted isn't a 100% fix for his problem/question.
