rfidkaiser 0 Posted December 5, 2009 Hi, Can anyone clearly explains the difference between Matrix switcher and Multiplexer?
andyscan 0 Posted December 10, 2009 A matrix switcher will allow audio and video inputs to be converted out to a different format and also to multiple outputs. A multiplexer will let video in and give video control such as single camera or multiviews to one output and possibly in some cases out to a spot monitor as well. survtech 0 Posted December 10, 2009 A matrix switcher can route any input to any output. It can feed the same input to multiple outputs simultaneously. A matrix switch can only feed one camera at a time to a monitor. A multiplexer typically puts multiple inputs on one output simultaneously; either in real time as a group (2x2, 3x3 or 4x4, etc.) or to a recorder (sequencing the inputs rapidly). This is 100% correct. except you can program the multiplexer to synch the correct IPS (Images Per Second) to a recorder. Most Muxs have a list of supported recorders.
