zmark 0 Posted December 10, 2009 Replaced a failed GV 600 card with a new GV 600 card and the V 8.31 software that came with it. Performed a database repair and opened the view log to make sure the previous recordings could be viewed. When selecting a time I only get a blue screen and a ? as if the file can't be found. The old video was saved in MPEG4 format. Could this be the issue and if so is there a solution?
tsd 0 Posted December 10, 2009 First make sure you have all the recording following the path explore the drive folder where the recording is stored if you see any old recording in there where it use to record and also make sure the new suftware is pointing to the same path I don't think there should be any problem for geovision to pull old Mpeg4 format recording with new software. good luck.... zmark 0 Posted December 11, 2009 The video is on the storage drive and the path is also correct. Earlier this year I replaced the card in a system older than this one and the view log on it worked as it should with Geo software V8. To double check the problem system I installed an old card with V7 software and after a data base repair the view log worked. The customer wants to upgrade all their dvrs with the new cards so they will all be the same but I need to try and find a solution if possible. Thanks for the suggestions. rory 0 Posted December 11, 2009 when you did the database repair did you check the box to rebuild all info? If not try that. Also make sure the data paths are the same. Additionally you could check the INI file in the windows folder manually for any path problems.
zmark 0 Posted December 11, 2009 Yes, the repair all info. box was checked. Not sure which INI file to look at. As a test I connected a camera to record some video to see if it was stored in the proper drive and folder. The video was stored on the correct drive and in the correct folder. The new recordings can be viewed but the old can't. The customer needs to be able to view as far back as a year. Any ideas are welcome.
