AVC760 / iphone / firmware

Recommended Posts

Looking for some help. Situation... like many people out there I want to access my DVR system via my iphone. I tested with totalcontrolapp folks to test my system, but no luck. I believe I may be running an old firmware version, so I would like to upgrade and test again.

Would anyone have firmware that would work with the following system?

AVC760 - 4 channel DVR

- model 3 (no USB port on the back of the unit)

- I believe this is an an old version 760, ie. I can run both Video Server E and Video Viewer software

- current firmware: 2011-10-k8-04-aa-14

Thanks!

Have you try the EagleEyes for iphone?

Go to app store and search by enter "avtech", EagleEyes will show up and you can install it without any charge.

Let me know if it work on 760 !

Wondering if you got eagle eys working with your 760? I have the 761 IDE version...will test eagle eyes out in the next couple of days.

I read somewhere the port must be set to 2222 and no 80..can anyone confirm this?

There are different things to consider when selecting port numbers.

Those you connect over LAN, or WAN through an IE browser will have to put :2222 after the IP address. If you use port 80 then you do not have to :80 after the IP address.

Selecting a port number, and it turns out to be the home port number of your router may cause some confusion.

There are some cases where you cannot use port 80. It may be that the ISP blocks that port number, or you may already have a device that uses this port number. This will force you to select another port number.

Another case may have to do with using cellphone remote view. Port 80 may work for browser viewing, or using the server software (Server S, Server E, or Video Viewer for AVTech, or what software your DVR manufacture uses), but you cannot remote view with the cellphone. This will cause you select a different port number.

On advantage of being able to select port numbers is that you can have multiple numbers of DVRs at one sight. By giving each DVR a different port number allows you to see which DVR you prefer to view.

In the case of 80 verses 2222 then try both. Do they work? Did it fail?

The advantage of port 80 if it works is that you do not have to put the colon and the port number if you are going through the browser.

If you change the DVR port number then you will need to enter that number in to the DVR remote software to connect.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I tried AVTECH app from appstore. Configured it two ways... Local IP while on wifi and my static IP over 3G network. In both cases when you go to connect it goes to a blank screen. Two buttoms at the top... Addressbook and i (information buttom). Pressing the i button shows that I am connected with resolution unknown, with frame rate of 0.0.
