marksman786 0 Posted December 15, 2009 Hi, I have a Vitek SAGA DVR system, ST1620. I 'd like to know if I can install an external hard drive via USB to increase storage capacity. I did connect a USB 2.0 external hard drive to it but the drive didn't show up under "removable drive" neither in the "external HDD" submenu. Can someone please help? Soundy 1 Posted December 15, 2009 Just offhand, I'd suspect most standalone DVRs don't support this. Nevertheless, if this one has an "external HDD" option, it just might. The trick, then, is probably needing to format the drive properly: most new drives come either unformatted, or formatted as FAT32. If your standalone is *nix-based, it may want to use a native format like ext3. Then again, it's possible "external HDD" is there simply as a backup/export option...
