art_andrade 0 Posted December 24, 2009 i need to make video distribuition from one PC where i have monitoring 4 sites remotely, i'm thinking to add a video card to the PC and then send the video output to a multiplexer and then run composite video cable to LCD TVs; am i right or there is a best way to do that. Sawbones 0 Posted December 24, 2009 I use a video-over-cat5 distribution system; it's made by StarTech. I use the four-port model, and it distributes the view from the DVR head-end over UTP to several TVs in the house. I switch the "source" on the TV to the "monitor" input, and I have a tiled view of all the security cameras. Works great... highly recommended
Neutech 0 Posted December 24, 2009 come out of PC video card and into modulator inline with TV Dist amp you already have, tune spare channel on TV to view Why use a multiplexer? If your going to composite to each TV you'll need a CCTV dist 4 way amp, again come from Video card Comp output into CCTV dist amp and then feed to each TV AV input
art_andrade 0 Posted December 25, 2009 you are right Neutech, it's not a multiplexer it's a splitter, anyway, i will to make the setup with a 4-way video splitter / amp. the sawbones idea is good but expensive. Thanks a lot friends
