with the geovision system if i have two 300 gig HD's do i need to use a raid controller or will the geovision software write to both HD's?

The geovision system will write to both HDDs, you just have to add them in the Storage setting

however, you need to partition the first 300GB HDD, about 10GB-15GB purely for Windows, you then use the rest of the space + your other 300GB for video. If you store your video files on the same drive as windows, it'll screw your system up!

This depends on how you want it to store the video. If you are looking for redundancy, ( same video to both drives simultaneously )you will need a RAID controller. If you are looking for continuous recording, moving on to the second drive once the first is full, than, those settings are in the General config area.

And try not to use 300G HDDs... They haven't been in the field that long - higher failier rate.
