denled 0 Posted December 27, 2009 Dont think win 7 starter has xp compatability mode and yes I want to install then run it Im also unsure if I can install IE7 over IE8 or at least get rid of IE8 if I cant then theres no way I can run my CCTV remote viewing with that program
rory 0 Posted December 27, 2009 you could try a program ive had to use in the past, even on WINE on Mac its called "Multiple IE". just select the version you want to install, it allows you to run multiple versions on your systems as it redirects the registry settings: http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE
Privatteer 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Mozilla Firefox (another free browser) might work had good success when newer versions on IE wont load a embeded web page. Just make sure you click yes when you connect to the DVR and it tries to load the java files. I assume your using Sightboss until they release an update you probably wont be able to get the installer to run. .

rory 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Doesn't Virtual Windows with XP Mode run on all versions of Windows 7? Best, Christopher I think its limited to the ultimate edition but i may stand corrected. either way, it still means running another virtual OS, while compatibility mode is more of a virtual application, faster. I cant seem to find any information on this anywhere Did you try multiple IE? PM me the link and I will see if I can grab the ActiveX for you and put that up as a separate installer outside of the web browser - that way it should work even when there are issues with the web browsers.
