willo 0 Posted January 3, 2010 hi can anyone shed some light on how to set up this camera tried just about everything tools at my disposal are r323 to r422 convertor r323 to rs485 convertor pc based cam controller and software supporting pelco p+d,tried honeywell site but a bit confusing as one set of docs tells you to use 422 and one tells you to use 485 inside of camera connections are +vh/ovh video/vid.gnd +vs/ovs data+/data- sync/s.gnd.can get picture on screen fan and heater connected and working and it goes through set up dance ,no info appears on screen just pic, the boards inside of camera have vc472v3 which has the pinouts on it 1-8 and 1-4 the board below has vc471v3 this has lk1 with jumper on but only two pins which it bridges both this is next to small battery on top board i.e 472v3 there are six pins with a double jumper on one side reads tp term and the otherside reads on /off and this is also labelled lk1 the double jumper is set to on .on honeywell website it shows all connection methods but none appear to match up with mine as they seem to have an nvt connection on there and mine does not also it mentions coax or 485 telemetry and that it auto sensors which one is connected??? when i recieved dome it had all wires conected into it apart from data+/data- sync/s.gnd so i assume it was run originally thru coax but the person i bought it of is as clueless as me as regards to any other equipement that may have been with camera as he was just told to take camera down from its position as building was being demolished.am i missing some kind of convertor as when i try to control camera using 485-422 it will not do anything thanks in advance for any help as i m not to cued up on protocols and such so please keep ans as untechnical as poss please thanks john

woodic 0 Posted August 19, 2010 Hi. Its a shame if you've chucked the camera out. I've done quite a bit of work with these VCL\Honeywell cameras including writing a control program for Windows. You just need a 232 to 485 convertor (about £10.00 of Ebay) and a PC running Windows obviously.
