todd2 0 Posted January 11, 2010 Anyone know what file system the AVC761 uses? If it's linux, may I assume it uses an ext3 file system? If I attach the drive it to a PC running linux, will I be able to see the files?
scorpion 0 Posted January 15, 2010 You will be able to "see" them but you will not be able to do much else. There is no emulator program that will allow you to see video.
maxann 0 Posted January 15, 2010 The file system is not present, HDD is used as a magnetic tape... Structure look here
scorpion 0 Posted January 15, 2010 You will have to forgive me. When I clicked on the link and went to the other post all of the info was "garbage" to me. I do not know what all that means. The DVR wraps the video with proprietary coding. You have to use the DVR to unwrap the proprietary coding. This is to protect an innocent victem from someone trying to photoshop their face in to the video. I am not a linux person and I do not know the short cuts they use for commands. I would tell you to put the hard drive back in to the DVR. I am wondering if you are trying to retrieve video that has been recorded over or something.
