Ocean17 0 Posted January 13, 2010 I was given some Sony SSC-DC14 cameras with auto iris lens. We would like to utilize these cameras on our 12vDC buss. THis would allow operation during power failures. Can these SSC-DC14 camera be converted to 12vdc, like the SSC-DC-10? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Soundy 1 Posted January 13, 2010 Might be, if you're electronically competent enough to open them up and hack the internal power supply... You could give them the appropriate 24VAC supply plugged into an off-the-shelf small-office-type UPS... or a better idea might be to just swap them for some 12VDC cameras. If I had a bunch of equivalent 12VDC cameras to offer, I'd swap in a second - I find 24VAC to be less problematic overall, less worry about voltage drop over long runs, and far less chance of getting ground loops, especially when using them with baluns.
