jonb300 0 Posted January 18, 2010 hi good day to everyone, i have encountered problems on the IDE AVTECH DVRs using SATA hard drives with converters. the AVTECH dvrs are IDE( the older ones) then when i installed a SATA hard drive with a converter they would work for a while then hang-up and display the "NO HDD" word on the screen. is there any remedy to this problem? i wish to re-use the old AVTECH DVR Thanks in advance
tweak'e 0 Posted January 18, 2010 don't forget IDE hardrives are still available. i have no idea what the size limit is on those DVR's. the only thing i can suggest is go find a ide-sata converter that supports SMART.
hotpars79 0 Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) Make sure you using Avtech SATA to IDE Convertor. And set the hard drive jumper to Master. format the HDD after the first time installation. You can buy IDE concertor from UKSecurityshop at http://www.uksecurityshop.com Edited March 29, 2010 by Guest
