tuvix72 0 Posted January 20, 2010 Hi all, got a quick question... Been planning my home security system for a couple weeks now and I had run into a post here where someone suggested a hybrid DVR/NVR software that was very reasonably priced (under $100 if I recall correctly). I searched around and found mostly good feeback but now I've completely forgotten what it was called and I can't find that post... I think the person was looking for open-source solutions and someone suggested this as an alternative... I've been googling for days and can't find it! Anyway, I'm setting up a hybrid environment, I have a capture card which is kind of old but I think is usable, at least the drivers loaded up fine on XP and all... I also have a Speco IP camera for the front door as that location is very difficult to reach with traditional cabling (network cables were already present at the front door). The rest of the camera locations are very easy to run cables to so that's why I'm opting for a hybrid solution, it will be easier and cheaper for me. If anyone can think of what that software may have been that would be great! Overall I'll probably have one or two IP cameras and 3-4 CCTV cameras... I could live with a 4 channel setup but would probably end up wishing for an 8. Thank you
