rawrmonty 0 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Im using GV 1248. We recently had our ip changed, and now i can no longer access the cameras remotely. Does anyone know what settings (and where they are located) i need to change in order to fix this? Any help would be appreciatted, thanks! rory 0 Posted January 30, 2010 It wont typically be part of the Geo software. If you are on a Router, connect to that using the Browser from the DVR or another PC on the local Network, and change the IP info in there. Otherwise if your DVR is connected direct to the Internet such as plugged into a Cable Modem then you would change the info in the Network Connections section in the control panel. Need some more info to determine what has been done already and how you are setup.
Harrar 0 Posted January 30, 2010 If you're running Geo softare, ensure your DNS client (part of the software) is running and updated successfully. This will keep track of any changes to your dynamic ip address.

Can you access from the wan side with your IP to http://IP_wan ? What router do you have ? some routers work bad with virtual server try with DMZ (fordward all ports to your GeoServer) Best regards
rawrmonty 0 Posted April 23, 2010 By wan side you mean using the public ip address? ive tried that... ive used WAN IP 192.168.2.101, public ip, LAN IP... router is Linksys RVS4000, fw V1.1.09 edit: Also, when i do use the WAN IP, it just continues to diplay "Connecting to Server" unless i kill the process. As when i tried the others it said cant connect. EDIT 2: I fixed it! thanks gamba. it was the Wan ip that i needed, also i needed to use the default 4550 and open that port on the router. some stupid guide told me to use 3550 no matter what the default was... However, when i go home and try to access it, it wont connect. i think im using the wrong ip address still... If you registered a name with Geovision DNS service(XXXX.dipmap.com) or with DYNDNS, just type in the name you registered. Remember to put in the http:// dnsname the first time. Depending on your home computer's software, you may also have to add it to your Trusted Sites under Internet Options.

jjsafeware 0 Posted April 28, 2010 the problem itself is a bit confusing. what's the condition of the successful try? is it occurred in the office where router and cameras are located locally? what's the exact command issued in the try?
rawrmonty 0 Posted April 28, 2010 I fixed it. The problem was i needed to open port 80 on my router.
