FIERCE4203 0 Posted February 1, 2010 installed DVR had dhcp address no problems IT guy came in made customer change to static ip. No problem enter static ip . Everything is Ok for about a week then dvr will go offline. When I check network settings they are changed but the admin of the DVR is not changing anything. Set it to address again and about week later same problem. Is it me? I don't get it no problem when it was dhcp but like I said the IT guy wanted to change it to static for remote view. Anyone help me out here?
rory 0 Posted February 1, 2010 Are you using a router? If so either someone is resetting it, or its a bad router. If you mean the settings in the DVR, then that is where the problem is, and then we need to know what type of DVR it is.

scorpion 0 Posted February 1, 2010 It is rare for a DVR to change it's DVR static IP address. Is it "defaulting" to an IP address from the factory? One: It may be an "APPLY" button that is getting overlooked. In other words you type in the static and then leave the menu, and the static defaults to what it was before you made the change. Two. The battery is bad on the PC board of the DVR. There may be a power outage, and the DVR defaults to factory settings. A clue would be having to change the date, and time as well. What do you think?
