cam2 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Hi, just fitted a dvr on a network(rory was a great help), using the client software that was supplied on the main pc ,when it tries to connect it displays a message client exe. has encountered a problem and will now close. I connected a laptop using the same software on the LAN (wirelessly) and it works fine. I thought it may be a service pack 2 issue so i uninstalled it,it worked briefly then crashed again. Any ideas ?

rory 0 Posted April 14, 2005 maybe a windows problem. Is the laptop using SP2? Also, could be a compression issue. It should work with SP2 though, more than it would with SP1, if it is fairly new. Maybe it is old software? ROry

cam2 0 Posted April 15, 2005 The laptop does'nt have sp2! It connects straight up,when the main pc tries it gets the error message. I can go online with the pc so it must be communicating with the router,it seems like the main pc is'nt part of the LAN. Its the last hurdle otherwise its great
