Panasonic WV-CW864A issue

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a panasonic system.

Matrix Switcher WJ-SX150A

Multiplexer WJ-FS616

CCTV Camera WV-CW864A

Joystick: WV-CU360C

There are 15 cameras that connect to the Matrix Switcher, then the Matrix switcher runs it to the multiplexer. Both the matrix switcher and the multiplexer have monitors attached to their video outputs. Most of the cameras are Panasonic PTZ WV-CW864A, a couple of them are panasonic still cameras. Most of them are powered by power supplies in the video house. About 3 of them are powered by power transformers that are at the camera locations. Coaxial cables are a mixture of RG59 and RG-6

All cameras except one are working great. The non-working camera is a Panasonic PTZ WV-CW864A. I have switched it out with several other known working cameras and all have the same issue. The issue is that there is a fuzzy picture on the multiplexer video out, but the matrix switcher does not detect the camera and there is no PTZ. When I plug in a still camera instead of the PTZ, it works fine. I have had two other PTZ that worked fine at that location at first, but when I went to mount them they have the same issues. I have tested the coaxial cable and it came back passed.

I don't think it is the power or coaxial, or the camera, but maybe some sort of a strong interference or grounding issue?

Any suggestions on what I could do?

Mike

Does this camera work when it is the only one attached to the switcher? Have you swapped out the switcher? You mentioned that it worked for a while. It may have taken a "hit" and can't handle the additional load of the ptz verses the still that does work.

Tried this today. Camera still doesn't work on switcher, also tried it on several different channels. I swapped out the switcher with a dataplexer MP 204C, all the other cameras showed up on it, except the camera that doesn't work.

Is this camera the furthest away from the switcher? The reason I ask is, did you check or set the cable/data compensation for the channel this camera is on? Wrong settings here can lead to a dim display and no control since video and data are going out over a single coax.

Tried this yesterday, could not tell a difference.
