Greenpinkie 0 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi All. I need urgent help. I have to turn in a security video to the police as evidence, but when I converted the VSE file to AVI and tried to play it on the windows media player, I had no audio. It only has the video data. I even downloaded a Codec pack as someone suggested and it didn't work. Please, please help me! I have very little knowledge about all of this. Thank you in advance. Soundy 1 Posted February 9, 2010 What DVR is this from? Most systems aren't set up to record audio - are you sure there's audio on the file to begin with?
Greenpinkie 0 Posted February 9, 2010 Yes, it has sound. I hear the sound on the original vse file when I play it, but it's when it gets converted to an avi file that it loses the sound. The system is an 8 channel MPEG-4 DVR made by... I don't know who makes it. It's some Asian off-brand of some kind.
Soundy 1 Posted February 9, 2010 And how are you converting the file?
Greenpinkie 0 Posted February 9, 2010 I'm saving the VSE file from the DVR to a disc and then opening the VSE file on my computer using the program Video Server E that came with the DVR. When you open the file in Video Server E, it then gives you the option to convert to an avi file. I really appreciate your help. I have to turn this file in tomorrow and I'm stressing out about it. Normally, I've just recorded the video portion and never needed audio, now I need the audio to be there and it's not.
