Geovision 8.3.3 released - 64 bit support claimed

I am downloading it now from Geovision I am hopeful I can now run geovision on Server 2008, that will solve a load of problems for me!

Did they give you a link for it? I see new PTZ's supported, which I need... theres a client of mine who has PTZs that were not in the last version...

Tech suport will give you a link for it. Its 1.3 gigs. i did get it last night & give it a try with either Server 2008 or Win 7 (one flavor of 64bit).

 

I will let you know my results but I am guessing if they claim its for 64 bit windows, it should work (maybe).

 

Then again my win 7 32 bit ultimate with GV1480 & 8.3.2 doesnt work well for me.

Im more interested in W7. As I put 8.3.1 (or was it 8.3.2 i forget) on a W7 box, and once in a while, when im going through menus, i get a "crash" error, ignore it and it works, but still that error bugs me.

 

Ive been dowloading it since about 4-5pm now. Yeah its pretty big and their server is slow. Im assuming its at USA Systems offices.

Yah, it took me 5 hours last night. I think everyone in the world wants it.

 

It does install on Win7 64 though I am having an issue with the webcam. I keep getting a message on the webcam that says "no priviledge". I am not quite sure what thats about but I will work on it tomorrow.

Just today, I ordered my new computer w/ 64-bit windows 7. I have been trying to find a DVR card to buy for the past 4 hours. I have been finding contradicting information.

 

I need 4-Channels and TV Out. Will one of the older GV card (GV-2004) work with the new 8.3.3 software?

I may need to do this for my new office DVR. We're using dual 1120-16 cards so naturally id like to put more then 4GB in. We're already running a quad-core processor.

Anyone else finding that 8.3.3 uses an ridiculous amount of ram on Win7 64?

 

After a few days, its using 1.2 gigs (yes gigs) of ram. My system has 12 gigs, so its not a problem but it seems a bit bloated to me.

 

I have seen it as high as 2.5 gigs too.

 

Note: No one is on the webcam either.

I actually went back to 32 bit

I didnt find 64 bit stable enough (crashed daily) and I found a few bugs with it.

 

32 Bit is working just fine

 

 

Also that does seem like too much ram. Im sure it has a memory leak. From what I understand 64 bit coding is very different then 32 so im sure they have a few bugs they need to work out

Im using it in a Win7 64-bit computer and mine is using 228,232 k of memory. It hasn't crashed once.
