I am using Axis 233d PTZ and a very small custom computer for recording and a wireless access point or mesh network or 3G card. check out........ http://estore.dotworkz.com/Dotworkz-D3-Xero-NVR-p/d3-cdx.htm not cheap but works well your looking $5,000 + just for the housing and mini NVR plus the camera and they are around $2000-3000 These setups are not cheap fixed Mobotix setups are around $5,000 and PTZ setups with wireless can run up to $15,000 plus install. hardwired 0 Posted February 22, 2010 Not PTZ, but I've been building these for a while now.. 900 Mhz long range Mikrotik/Ubiquiti wireless/router combo, Intel Mini-ITX boards, changed from the Arecont's to Panasonic 502's. This was sort of a prototype, but it has been running through a very hot (105F) summer with no problems. This one's running Milestone, but the newer ones have Exacq. Surprisingly, that fiberglass box is really expensive ($450+), but it's a lot lighter than steel. Working on a build that looks a little more like a transformer now... ak357 0 Posted February 23, 2010 How would you locally record an IP PTZ camera that is remotely set up? ------------------------------------------------------ I will suggest to you simple and cost effective way Local Recording 1.Any PTZ cam with Pelco protocol connected to IP plug and play server Recording by SD card inside IP server or NAS 2.Connectivity By WI-FI ( IP Radio or whatever u choose) or using 3G Router or 3G stick 3.Recording remotely Once u connect to IP Server you record by client software continuous or motion mode (36 ch free NVR) keep in mind no network setup needed at IP server end any ??? by the way I called you few times Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yep, you got it, they are replacement windows for Pelco HS8080 enclosures, regular Plexiglass/Lexan was too wavy, made distortion in the images, the Pelco windows are pretty good. As far as the wattage, I haven't measured it, but on the Core2 boxes, I'd say about 70-80 watts, on the Atom, maybe 50 or so. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
