Avtech KPV604

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have KPV604 unit, it said the manufacture is AVtech, but never found any link that

related to this series, its a H264, 4ch, IP enabled, IE compatible,

maybe it just distribute in my country only ( Indonesia )

It run well, I can access it remotely (IE browser only) from my notebook/pc

problem is when I try to access them from BB or other phone type which mostly doesn't support IE ( failed activex to load ).

I read a lot on this forum regarding this issue, and tried many suggestion but none of them solved the problem, until I come to think that maybe at this moment Avtech

already release firmware for BB phone, from last year topics, they released a firmware for IPhone access and I assume maybe now AVtech already have firmware for BB access, problem is I'm not sure which series from AvTech product compatible with this series ? The risk is I can't go back to may old firmware if I upgrade it with a wrong firmware....

I need help on this issue maybe someone have a clue on my problem, thanks

Cheers,

Andy

Hello!

I gave up trying to find solutions to cellphone remote view.

I have not found an ROI that will allow me time to spend on this issue.

I run in to problems with Cell phone manufacture, cell phone service providers, java issues, active x issues, and other problems.

Any ap will also have to work with the carrier such as 3G, and CDMA.

The manufacture has to develop software for it to work with BB. BB for the most part is used in the "business world". In the business world you may not find Avtech DVRs being used. There is no reason to spend money on this system.

The Iphone is more for the everyday user. In a large amount of homes you will find Avtech DVRs. There is a large need to have an ap made for this system.

I do not know what will work with BB except what users have posted with their experience.

Hello Scorpion,

Thanks for your suggestion & opinion, I agree that accessing DVR from cellphone

( BB etc ) needs a lot of energy to make it work, and each type of gear/DVR have its own difficulty and tricks.

In my case today I found this website which I think is the manufacture of my product ( web photos showed a similar look/spec to my DVR and its totally not Avtech )

Some says they are all coming from a same source ( hufffff...)

I'm trying to contact them and see whether they have solution or they could develop/upgrade the firmware into IE and Java capable unit.

Well..I think I have to wait their respond before I could share any details regarding these DVR from cellphone/BB thingy
