larsth 0 Posted March 3, 2010 Hi. I have the same problems with my DVR4-1160. I talked with the support and they first told me to update the firmware/software. Next I talked with them they found out that the unit is brand new (only 3 month at the market), so there was no updat. I record in detection mode, and Ill try in manual mode. But it is bad, new unit on the market, with such troubles SU Lars

Martillio 0 Posted July 29, 2010 Hi again to all WARNING !!! I can not recomend to update your firmware on your DVR 1160 from Swann. As you know I do it for one week a goo. It works now for sensor recording, but now there are other bigger problems. The DVR show now, when i try to replay Year 2031 and the hard disc are 123% full ??? as i know 100% is total full so 123% is not possible, and about the year. My time setting is 2010 so how can the recording be in 2031 ??? I cant understand that Swann will send a update like that!!!!! and tell Me to update the firmware. I am very dissapointed about Swann and I will not recomend to invest in their products with this kind of service. I have found a new H 264 No name 8 channel DVR on Ebay from China I will recieve it tommorow so my old Swann 1160 Mpeg4 vill be delivered back to store for repair or money back. Otherwise I will put it in my bin. Brgd. Martillio

nancyh1980 0 Posted August 1, 2010 Have you figured all the time you have spent on the swan? Multiply that by your average hourly. Perhaps you could have bought a better DVR? Even sold at Fry and the Swan offers such incredible service, do you think the Chinese DVR manufacturer would offer better service. I hope the best of luck to you. Keep us updated.
