HTACCESS 0 Posted April 17, 2005 If the location of the cameras to be installed on a new building (another project) changed after submitting the plans to the City Inspector, would I have to re-submit the new locations to the City?
kaysadeya 0 Posted April 17, 2005 Others here would be in better position to comment, but my guess is, if the city requires a permit for low-voltage wiring, the answer would be yes. Strictly speaking, any time you run new cable you'd need an inspection.
VST_Man 1 Posted April 18, 2005 answer is yes, inspector may overlook it on the premise of "we had to change it because", but, you don't want to upset "the man" on a low voltage wire. make a quick phone call to get a verbal and follow that up with the paperwork. most inspectors will allow slight changes as long as you ask and install to code. ask if they allow for changes on the fly just to get a feel for the inspectors attitude. most inpsectors understand that changes are expected (ie. you plan to install the wire where high voltage wire is already installed) and need to be handled on location vice waiting for the paperwork to get routed.
