jeromephone 6 Posted February 28, 2010 We have some servers that the customer has requested we delete several months video. I started the process using the backup delete from the video log screen and it ran almost 6 hrs. Is there a faster way to get rid of the old files without corrupting the data base. I know I could have quick formatted the discs but that wipes out the current data they want to keep. I am working on a 16 cam 800 and I had about 800 gig to delete. Also when the delete is complete is the app supposed to close on its own?
rory 0 Posted February 28, 2010 6 Hours? Ouch. Perhaps just copy the folders you want based on the dates, to another drive, or another temp folder of that drive, then delete all the working folders. Clean or format then copy them back, and run the Database Repair to update the database. I cant see that taking 6 hours, unless there is something wrong with the drive, or the system. What are the System specs? If using 8.3 it needs a super computer
