I need some HELP from some experts....

Recommended Posts

So to keep this short for you guys here is what I have...

140 cameras from all over the plant all coming to one location transmitted by either just RGB cable or twisted pair using NVT active and passive hubs... All feeds go to a GE KTS-250-16 ( 1 input and it gives you 4 outputs per 1 input) they are 16 channel blocks.... I use 1 of the outputs to go to a DVR (8 of them) and another output to go to a 16 channel multiplexer...

The only reason I bought these GE multiplexers was because the guy (salesman) told me they would show 16 feeds in real time.

I have to convert the signal from BNC on the multiplexer to RGB for a LCD TV... The pictures show up fine but not in real time...

Even if I plug the BNC into a CCTV monitor it is still not real time...

I need some advice as to what equipment I will need or what I need to do to make 16 feeds show up in real-time on a LCD TV...

Thanks for this long winded details... Any questions please ask and if I do not know, I will find out.

Not familiar with that MUX in particular, but many have the ability to show you a live OR VCR feed; if the VCR feed is selected, it may be showing a slight delay because of the extra processing.

But just curious, why wouldn't you use a MUX(es) with proper loop-throughs, so you just run the cameras direct into the MUX, then out from each channel to the DVR? Would save a fortune on the active splitters (not to mention removing a lot of complexity).
