Replacing Hard Disks Dedicated Micros BX2 DVTX

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have a Dedicated Micros BX2 DVTX with 4 faulty PATA drives at onces. I took all drives out and put one 80 GB Seagate (Drive C) and one 160GB (Drive D) Maxtor back in that I had lying around just to test the DVR. I eventually got the firmware installed on C and the recorder now boots up, but only if I take Drive D out. When the D Drive is plugged in the Caddy buzzer beeps all the time and the red LED flashes. If I start the recorder it stops in bootloader mode (it recognizes the drive OK though with no errors) . I have my laptop connected via serial port and tried to format the drive in monitor mode but it doesn`t solve the issue.

Any thoughs on this are very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Alex

this is solved now. Bought 4 x 500GB Hitachi Deskstar and the unit booted up OK and created the image storage space on all drives. It took almost an hour and two rebboots to finally work. The beeping sound was due to some of the fans in the caddies being faulty. Replaced the fans and no more beeping/red LED.
