Dedicated Micros Sprite 2 HDD Replacment

Hi Chaps,

 

I've had a go with the search function on the board & there lot of info but could not quite see a definitive answer

 

Got a Sprite 2 DS2AC DX16C- 600GB (pin DM/DS2A/600C16) sitting here on the desk it an old machine which the drive was giving up the ghost.

 

I dusted it off the other day to see about fixing for use as a loan machine.

 

When power up it displays version no. 3.1 (151) (DVTU) goes though its checks for pcb ect…. Displays the HDD’s then hangs with the message

 

Disk problem maybe wrong fat version

 

Suggest using monitor to reformat

 

The drive’s spin up okay in a PC, I’ve tried a new formatted drive (160 seagate) in the unit & also exacted the zip file off the pulled master drive on the new in which appears to place to all required info onto the drive but to no effect.

 

Looking via wireshark I can’t see the unit doing anything over the Lan

 

Does this unit support hyper terminal via its serial port(s) ?

 

Any hints or tips before I declare it bricked & boot it across the carpark ?
