I have downloaded the iphone app ASee from the app store( in the Q see read me for new firmware for the QSD9004) and it works better than the MEye app recommended by CnM so far so good the QSD9004 has new firmware with support for vga up to 1920x1200 as well as other things there are 2 versions -40s and -30s I am willing to try this firmware in the CnM but which one? My brother in law came round and done most of the router stuff and I am able to view my cams online, however I am finding it impossible to view on my iphone! I have tried all the apps mentioned but I think it might be something to do with the ports I am using! I have a netgear router supplied by sky. does anone know what the media port and the web port should be? Also any other tips would be helpful! Thanks Al! On the router: Check the mobile port is forwarded (see below) Check dynamic dns is setup (required for remote viewing with a static dns name e.g. alhost.gotdns.com). Ensure the IP address is fixed for the Cnm - you need this for the port forwards to work correctly. On the Cnm: In network settings I choose: Mobile Setting: Network: 3G Mobile: 00100 (network port can be any number but keep it consistent below) Running ASee works with these settings. Server Info Name: [name].gotdns.com Address: [name].gotdns.com Port: 100 Account Info User ID: admin or user Password: admpw or userpw If you are using on your LAN (i.e. via your WiFi) then I know the Netgears sometimes don't like the dns name and prefer the internal IP address of 192.168.0.x where x is the DHCP assigned value. Media is on 9000 Webport (HTTP) is on 8081 3G is on 00100 All are forwarded but I think only 100 is required for ASee. I have received a unit without the promised alarm ins/out on the back, so I need to know if this unit can actually beep on it's own on MD, i.e. without an attached alarm. The manual seems to indicate/imply that it can, but it has proved impossible for me to obtain an answer to this simple question. So... can this unit be set to beep on motion detection? I cannot experiment with it myself as the unit is in it's original box, awaiting a possible return if this functionality is not present, so I would really appreciate if any of you that actually has the kit out and working could confirm or deny this for me! Sometimes the rain sets it off, or a cat in the garden, or even a gust of wind, you do have different sensitivity settings for the motion detection but only 4 different settings and it could cause un neccessary panic if you hear a bleep in the middle of the night for a cat! I am not questioning you, but I need to ask (in my most irritating voice ): Are you sure? Where would that be set up on a unit without the external alarm functionality? I ask, as I see no mention of this part in the manual for this unit, only for the ones with external alarm. Or put another way: Have you - or anyone - actually done this? Basically a PIR with RF to a receiver unit with a siren / sounder - there are several available from around £20 - just do a google or ebay search for them. How do I find out what the port should be? and how do I know what the port is on the server? I have a Buffalo Air Navigator wireless router. I just want to be able to see my home on my iphone. I am not 100% sure about the sound output - I will check next time I visit my parents but thats a few weeks away... also bear in mind the driveway alerts are pretty loud... Another option is to use a low-powered PC and run some motion detection software on it - several options here like "motion" or "zoneminder" for Linux - Windows options also exist.... Hi Liz, You need to connect to the CCTV box via Internet Explorer on your PC; login with the admin password (I think the default is 123456) and go to the setup page (along the top). From here go to Network and select Mobile Setting - Network to "3G" and leave the default port below it - this is the port you need in ASee - now click Apply. Now all this assumes you are connecting via WiFi at home - if you are connecting via the mobile network things get a bit more tricky as you have to setup your router for what is called port-forwarding and best to also use a service called Dynamic DNS so you don't have to remember your routers external IP address when you are out and about... but first things first - try it out from WiFi and I am sure someone with knowledge of your router can talk you through the next bit... Regards Mine are night vision with IR, and it works well. As for range, I am not sure what you mean, but it states - of the top of my head - something like 10 meters. Practically, though, I have no problem seeing the same distance as I can in daylight. MD with IR is probably more limited, though. Cables are 15 meters. Cheers! Regards Going by the specs, is a bottom of the barrel really cheap Color IR camera. I wouldn't expect too much from it, especially outdoors, and its not a wide angle either (1/4"). Those are the kind of cameras for example we sell to the really poor people living in shacks with no running water, couple bucks more and a different brand can get one a slightly better camera.
