Dedicated Micros DVR and keyboard questions

New to posting but have used much of the information I've found here, so thank you all for that.

 

First, I have a used Dedicated Micros D4 DVR and none of the buttons on the front panel seem to be working, though the picture come up on the screen with time and date.

 

Second, I have a used KBS3 keyboard plugged into the D4 and the lcd screen on the keyboard reads "kbd not attached" and when the buttons are pushed, I hear an annoying beep.

 

Any help on these issues would be much appreciated.
