atomic dog 0 Posted April 16, 2010 Long story short. We have revamped the video recording capabilities in our company. The contractor suggested and ordered some very cheap DVR cards that on spec would do the job. They don't. They are pretty lousy. So I want some of the experts here to simply tell me what I should buy for a PCI or PCIe based DVR card. My basic requirements: 4 channels video recording 4 channels audio recording Accept RCA video cams currently setup Must be able to capture and save videos as WMV format (this is a client requirement) 640x480(or better). Work with intel i5 board and chipset Concurrently record up to 4 rooms. I ended up borrowing an osprey card for the time being which works OK, but I need to get a move on buying our own cards. The only thing I have seen in my pathetic bumbling around is a geovision GV800/4. But not knowing the capabilities of accompanying software or cards makes my guess another disaster waiting to happen. We have purchased blue Iris and another program called something like timhill. They seem to record in WMV, but it would be nice to be told "if you get this and use that software it will all work." Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
bpzle 0 Posted April 17, 2010 Avermedia NV5000 would work well... Although I'm not a 100 percent sure its been fully tested with the new i5 Intel processors. I doubt there would be an issue though.
