PilotGuy 0 Posted April 18, 2010 Hi, i have just installed a small CCTV system in my home consisting of four Cameras. I wanted thease cameras to be connected to a PC so i bought one of these simple DVR Cards from Ebay. It has a Techwell Chip and as far as a can tell only works with the Supplied software. I wanted a Card that worked with 3rd party software such as webcamxp etc. I then bought a Hauppauge ImpactVCB Card with a BT878 Chip, but i can only get one input on that card to work for some reason, i have also tried the universal drivers for it aswell. Can anyone here give me some advice on a good card to get for my needs? Price doesnt matter. I believe a card that had four inputs needs four chips.
bpzle 0 Posted April 19, 2010 Well, don't buy from ebay again... Avermedia makes good stuff... Check out the NV3000 or NV5000 if you want to stick with 4 channel cards... lots of features, well laid out, and well supported.
william_netvisiondvr 0 Posted April 19, 2010 I believe a card that had four inputs needs four chips. Not always. Four inputs needs one chip only, like Hikvision HCI series cards.
