tcoyote21 0 Posted May 2, 2010 I am setting up a clients DVR/Security system and am having trouble accessing the network interface, either through a web browser or the DX Client. This is on a LAN noty coming through a WAN interface/Internet. I get the standard Connect Failed!(2) Reason: (-3)no stream timeout every time I try to log in with the client and a web browser just times out. I have a static ip assigned on the dvr that is outside the dhcp pool, and no other device on the network is conflicting. I went ahead and set up port forwarding to the device on the router (WRT54G2) even though I'm not trying to access it from outside the local network. Same results every time. I also tried both a straight through and cross over cable. It will ping from a computer on the network also. So, I went ahead and set up an alias dns at dyndns.org and pointed it to the IP on the WAN. I work for his ISP so I made sure he had a static IP from us. The domain resolves to the correct IP he has for his internet connection, but still no dice. I'm completely stumped at this point. Anyoner have any ideas? Or did I maybe just get a bad unit? Thanks, TC
jjsafeware 0 Posted May 3, 2010 did you check the port number of the dvr? try this on IE http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:portnumber
tcoyote21 0 Posted May 3, 2010 Yeah, I left it on the default port of 80, so adding it to the IE address string does nothing being as thats the default web server port. I also tried it on a couple otheres like 1024 and 14444. No dice
jjsafeware 0 Posted May 4, 2010 need a list of the following, the dvr's static ip and netmask, your testing computer's ip, router's private ip and netmask.
