IP Camera Software Questions

Recommended Posts

We are a small non profit that last year had 3 IP bases camera systems installed. List below is the following equipment.

Site 1

16 cameras

6/ Panasonic BB-HCM531A

10/ Panasonic BB-HCM403A

BB-HPN-15A software

Site 2

9 cameras

3/ Panasonic BB-HCM531A

6/ Panasonic BB-HCM403A

BB-HPN-15A software

Site 3

8 Cameras

3/ Panasonic BB-HCM531A

5/ Panasonic BB-HCM403A

BB-HPN-15A software

The cameras are good cameras for our needs but the software is pretty crappy. I have looked at a couple other pieces of software and really like NUUO but is out of the price range. The Exacq software looks nice but is not compatible. I could not get milestone demo to find the cameras, as it would not let you change the user name.

I basically want a easy to use software for the end user so they can monitor the camera either threw a web GUI or threw a piece of software loaded on there computer. I also would like to choose the times the cameras record all the time and after hours on motion detect.

The current Panasonic software requires the user to RDP into the server to see the cameras.

Also Audio is important as is setting recording limits on the size of the files so we dont run out of space.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I know the Vigil NVR supports some Panasonic IP cameras, and will probably work with yours (you could contact them to confirm). It will also address all your other requirements, including audio and the ability to view multiple remote sites through a single client application (you can even set up camera "groups" that display selected cameras from different sites on one screen with a single click). Unfortunately, it's not on the cheap end of things either, and the NVR software isn't sold separately (you have to purchase the complete system).
